Master Your Post-Holiday Card Game

Our Holiday Card display always seem to be the last thing we take down each year (Though you'll never see my tree up a day past New Years!)  They are too fun! I love receiving, displaying and fully enjoying loved ones cards, but I'll be totally honest here, I think it's totally okay and should be a guilt free activity to dispose of them after the holidays.

One exception: your own family card

Always save one copy from each year and keep them in a way you can enjoy them.  Ex: a photo box, a photo album, a collage frame that you utilize each year as decoration.  Don't throw them in a drawer, have a designated place, and only keep one.

Are you a card keeper? We understand, so here's a few quick DIY rules to keep them all in order:

  • Try to pare it down to the people in your life that you are really close with, it's okay to only keep a select few.

  • Get rid of all envelopes if you haven't already.  (Don't forget to update your address book.)

  • Store them in a way that you can enjoy them - keeping them in boxes never to be looked at year after year is a waste of your storage space.

Here's two DIY ways to get the most out of yours each year:.

Memory Book

Flip Book

All you need is a hold punch, a bag of clasp rings (you can get them at any craft or office store) and your selected greetings.  These are great to lay on the coffee table each holiday season, and so fun to look through!
